Oleta River State Park Plantation High School Reef Ball Project
45 students in grades 11 and 12 deploy artificial reefs at Oleta River State Park to help restore coral reefs. Students create, distribute and teach coral reef curricula at middle schools and local events.Participants at these outreach events construct reef balls for the reef. The project infuses real‐world, hands ‐on, project ‐based learning into the existing curriculum and also allows students to educate the public on effective land and waterway management.
