In the broad area of Agios Nikolaos city - a very touristic place and one of the most beautiful areas of Crete (and Greece) - more than 9 diving Clubs are activated. Recently, I have completed the process of a questionnaire addressed specifically to the sport divers of these Clubs (250 leaflets mostly from tourists) and 94% of them find the idea of the Underwater Park as being very interesting. According to my initial socioeconomic study from the area the number of dives is estimated to vary between 29,000 to about 39,800 per touristic period (in a period of 3 years from the opening day). There are no special deployment problems as the area is 100% protected form bad weather and only 2 Km from the port of Agios Nikolaos.
