- From
Avid Crusier.com "Sovereign of the Seas crew members are using
the US $25,000 award they received as Royal Caribbean International's
2001 Environmental Ship of the Year to rebuild a coral reef off the shores
of Coco Cay, the line's private Bahamian beach island. The reef is being
reconstructed in cooperation with the Reef Ball Foundation using
marine-friendly concrete "reef balls" which will be placed at two
separate locations around the island to counteract conditions that are
slowly leading to the reef's deterioration."
